Delta Force was an elite clone commando unit of the Grand Army of the Republic that performed special missions during the Clone Wars, primarily sabotaging military installations of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
After the end of the clone wars, Delta became part of the Imperial Special Forces 501st Legion. In accordance with the declaration of the new order of the Galactic Empire, Squad 40, formed from Republic commandos, began to hunt down Jedi survivors, Jedi sympathizers, clone deserters, and other Imperial dissidents.
